2 GW Solar Module Order
The new contract represents 2 GW, or 2,000 MW, of solar module supply. While the actual delivery schedule has not been specified, an equal distribution across two financial years would represent approximately 1 GW per year. This is only an illustrative calculation and is not the company’s confirmed schedule.
Waaree has also clarified that the transaction is not a related-party transaction. The company stated that its promoters and promoter group have no interest in the customer entity.
Strong Order Book and Manufacturing Capacity
The order comes at a time when Waaree Energies has a substantial contracted pipeline. During Q1 FY27, the company reported an overall order book of approximately ₹61,500 crore, including a module order book of around 25.2 GW.
Waaree had approximately 26 GW of solar module manufacturing capacity and 5.4 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity during the quarter. The company also reported solar module sales of around 3.6 GW in Q1 FY27, reflecting strong execution volumes.
The company has been expanding its manufacturing capabilities across modules and cells as India moves toward a more integrated domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.
