Vikram Solar has secured a 187 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) module supply order from a renowned customer that is a leading renewable energy developer in India. The modules will be supplied for solar projects at three locations across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, with deliveries scheduled by December 2026.
Under the agreement, Vikram Solar will supply high-efficiency N-Type TOPCon G12R solar modules featuring glass-to-glass (G2G) construction and bifacial technology, with power ratings ranging from 615 Wp to 625 Wp. The contract adds to the company’s domestic order pipeline and strengthens its participation in India’s utility-scale solar market.
Vikram Solar to Supply High-Efficiency TOPCon Modules
The 187 MW contract covers the supply of advanced N-Type Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) G12R modules for utility-scale solar projects. The modules combine high power ratings with bifacial technology and glass-to-glass construction.
Bifacial modules can generate electricity from sunlight reaching both the front and rear surfaces, with actual energy gains depending on installation design, ground reflectivity, mounting configuration and site conditions. Glass-to-glass construction provides protective glass layers on both sides of the module.
With power ratings of 615–625 Wp, the modules are designed to support large-scale solar installations where power output, reliability and long-term energy generation are important considerations.
Domestic Order Strengthens Customer Relationship
Vikram Solar said the engagement builds on its existing association with the developer, reflecting continued confidence in the company’s technology portfolio and execution capabilities.
The domestic supply order comes as India continues to expand its solar power infrastructure and manufacturing ecosystem. Demand for high-efficiency modules remains important for renewable energy developers seeking to deploy large-scale solar capacity.
The company is also expanding its high-efficiency cell manufacturing capabilities as it works to strengthen its position in India’s solar manufacturing value chain.
Vikram Solar’s Manufacturing and Industry Presence
Headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, Vikram Solar manufactures photovoltaic modules and serves customers across domestic and international markets. According to the company, it has a presence in 39 countries, supported by 119 authorized distributors and more than 750 dealers in India.
Vikram Solar has received Top Performer recognition from PVEL’s PV Module Reliability Scorecard for the ninth time. It has also featured in BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 solar PV module manufacturer list for nine consecutive quarters, according to the company’s announcement.
