Hartek Power, a leading Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company with capabilities across power systems, solar EPC and rooftop solar, has secured an 80 MW turnkey solar EPC project worth approximately ₹200 crore from a leading steel manufacturer in Uttar Pradesh. The project will support the customer’s captive electricity consumption and strengthen Hartek Power’s presence in India’s industrial renewable energy sector.
Hartek Power to Execute Complete Solar EPC Scope
Under the contract, Hartek Power will undertake the complete engineering, procurement and construction scope for the 80 MW solar project. The mandate covers engineering and design, procurement of equipment, construction, installation, testing and commissioning.
The company will also supply key project components, including solar modules, inverters, power transformers and Inverter Duty Transformers (IDTs). These components will form an integral part of the solar generation and electrical infrastructure required for the project.
The facility is being developed at a separate location in Uttar Pradesh to meet a portion of the steel manufacturer’s captive electricity requirements. Hartek Power is expected to complete the project by December 31, 2026.
Industrial Captive Solar to Support Renewable Energy Adoption
The project reflects the growing role of captive solar power in helping energy-intensive industries integrate renewable electricity into their operations. Steel manufacturing requires substantial power, making renewable energy procurement an important consideration for industrial consumers seeking to diversify their energy mix.
Captive solar installations can help businesses reduce reliance on conventional electricity sources and manage long-term energy procurement costs. The actual financial and environmental benefits, however, will depend on project generation, consumption patterns and applicable electricity tariffs.
Hartek Power Strengthens Solar EPC Portfolio
Hartek Power has connected more than 10 GW of solar capacity to the national grid and executed renewable energy projects across multiple Indian states, according to the company information provided.
Its capabilities span solar EPC, rooftop solar, power systems and associated electrical infrastructure, enabling it to deliver integrated solutions across renewable energy projects.
The latest 80 MW order further expands Hartek Power’s industrial solar EPC portfolio and reinforces its position in India’s growing renewable energy market. With completion targeted for December 2026, the project will add to the deployment of captive solar capacity supporting industrial power requirements and India’s broader clean energy transition.
