CleanMax, Asia’s leading commercial and industrial (C&I) renewable energy solutions provider, and Nuvoco Vistas Corporation, one of India’s leading cement and building materials companies under the Nirma Group, have partnered to develop a 46.4 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project in Rajasthan. The project will combine wind, solar and battery energy storage to support Nuvoco’s long-term clean power requirements for its cement operations.
The project is being developed at Bhikamkhore, Rajasthan, and comprises 20 MW of wind capacity and 26.4 MWp of solar capacity, along with a 2 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). the project will be developed under a group captive structure, enabling Nuvoco to procure renewable electricity for its operations over the long term.
Project to Generate Around 100 MU Annually
Once operational, the hybrid project is expected to generate approximately 100 million units (MU) of renewable electricity annually, Electricity generated from the project will be supplied to Nuvoco through the State Transmission Utility (STU) Open Access network.
The combination of wind and solar generation, supported by battery storage, is designed to provide a diversified renewable power supply for Nuvoco’s industrial operations.
Emissions Reduction
The project is expected to support Nuvoco’s efforts to reduce the carbon intensity of its manufacturing operations, According to the project details, the hybrid renewable energy project is expected to avoid approximately 63,463 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually under Scope 1 and 62,023 tonnes under Scope 2. this represents combined reported emissions avoidance of approximately 125,486 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
Supporting Nuvoco’s Renewable Energy Strategy
The project forms part of Nuvoco’s broader sustainability strategy, which includes renewable energy adoption, Waste Heat Recovery Systems (WHRS), energy-efficiency initiatives and increased use of alternative fuels.
The initiative also supports Nuvoco’s DIRE — Digitalisation, Innovation and Renewables agenda. The framework focuses on climate action, renewable energy transition, water stewardship, circularity and biodiversity conservation across the company’s manufacturing ecosystem.
The renewable energy project is therefore expected to contribute to Nuvoco’s longer-term efforts to build more resource-efficient and lower-carbon manufacturing operations.

Hybrid Renewable Energy for Industrial Demand
The CleanMax-Nuvoco partnership reflects the increasing adoption of wind-solar hybrid projects and battery energy storage systems for industrial renewable power procurement.
The project combines 46.4 MW of wind and solar generation capacity with 2 MWh of battery storage, providing Nuvoco with access to renewable electricity through a group-captive arrangement.
For Nuvoco, the project supports its renewable energy and emissions-reduction objectives while complementing other decarbonisation measures across its manufacturing operations.
For CleanMax, the partnership further expands its C&I renewable energy portfolio and strengthens its presence in Rajasthan’s growing renewable energy market.
As industrial companies increasingly seek long-term renewable power solutions, hybrid projects combining solar, wind and energy storage are emerging as an important model for meeting electricity demand while supporting corporate sustainability targets.
