ACME Solar Holdings Limited has commissioned an additional 53.68 MW/217.403 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity across two Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) projects in Rajasthan, taking the combined commissioned storage capacity of the two projects to 266.99 MW/1,078.692 MWh.
The newly commissioned capacity includes 17.91 MW/74.323 MWh at the Chittorgarh project and 35.77 MW/143.08 MWh at the Bikaner project. Both developments represent incremental commissioning milestones for the company’s grid-scale energy storage portfolio.
ACME Sigma Urja Commissions 17.91 MW/74.323 MWh BESS in Chittorgarh
Through its wholly owned subsidiary, ACME Sigma Urja Private Limited, ACME Solar commissioned 17.91 MW/74.323 MWh of additional BESS capacity at its FDRE project located in Neemri village, Rawatbhata tehsil, Chittorgarh district, Rajasthan.
The capacity was commissioned on October 23, 2026, with the Commercial Operation Date (COD) effective October 25, 2026.
The project has a total planned BESS discharge capacity of 250 MW/1,069 MWh. Following this latest commissioning, ACME Sigma Urja has achieved a cumulative commissioned BESS capacity of 71.640 MW/297.292 MWh.
ACME Greentech Seventh Commissions 35.77 MW/143.08 MWh BESS in Bikaner
In another development, ACME Solar, through its wholly owned subsidiary ACME Greentech Seventh Private Limited, commissioned an additional 35.77 MW/143.08 MWh BESS component at its FDRE project in Kelan village, Chhatargarh tehsil, Bikaner district, Rajasthan.
The additional capacity was commissioned on October 27, 2026, and achieved COD on October 29, 2026.
The project has a total planned BESS discharge capacity of 300 MW/1,200 MWh. With this commissioning, the subsidiary’s cumulative commissioned BESS capacity has increased to 195.35 MW/781.40 MWh.
The project has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed with SJVN Limited.
Combined BESS Capacity Reaches 266.99 MW/1,078.69 MWh
With the latest ACME Solar commissioning milestones, the two Rajasthan FDRE projects have achieved a combined cumulative commissioned BESS capacity of 266.99 MW/1,078.692 MWh against their total planned capacity of 550 MW/2,269 MWh.
The developments highlight ACME Solar’s continued progress in deploying large-scale battery energy storage infrastructure alongside its renewable energy projects. Grid-scale BESS installations are expected to play an important role in improving renewable energy dispatchability, supporting grid balancing and meeting electricity demand during peak consumption periods.
The phased commissioning of these projects also marks further progress in integrating energy storage solutions into India’s FDRE renewable energy framework.
