Insolation Energy Limited (INA Solar), through its subsidiary Insolation Green Energy Private Limited, has entered into a five-year strategic partnership with US-based Caelux Corporation for the commercialisation of 3 GW of advanced solar modules.

Under the agreement, the companies will integrate Caelux’s proprietary Energy Producing Glass technology with INA Solar’s N-Type TOPCon manufacturing platform to develop high-efficiency Hybrid-Tandem™ solar modules. The collaboration targets commercial module efficiency of up to 29% by 2028.

The partnership represents a step towards bringing next-generation Perovskite-based solar technology into large-scale module manufacturing in India.

Perovskite and TOPCon Integration to Target 29% Efficiency

The proposed Hybrid-Tandem technology combines conventional N-Type TOPCon solar cells with a Perovskite-based power-generating glass layer.

Caelux’s Energy Producing Glass technology is designed to transform the upper glass layer of a solar module into an additional electricity-generating surface. This approach aims to increase module power density and overall energy generation while improving project economics.

By integrating the technology with TOPCon cells, the companies aim to develop ultra-high-efficiency modules that can potentially reduce the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE).

The collaboration will cover technology validation, manufacturing readiness and applicable regulatory approvals, including compliance with India’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).

Company Statements on the Collaboration

Commenting on the partnership, Manish Gupta, Chairman of Insolation Energy Limited, said the collaboration marks an important milestone for INA Solar. He highlighted that combining advanced Perovskite technology with the company’s TOPCon manufacturing capabilities will support the development of high-efficiency solar modules and contribute to India’s renewable energy ambitions.

Vikas Jain, Managing Director of Insolation Energy Limited, said the partnership strengthens the company’s focus on building an integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem through innovation, advanced technology and high-performance solar solutions.

Scott Graybeal, CEO of Caelux Corporation, described the agreement as an important step towards bringing next-generation solar technology into commercial production at scale in India. He also stated that Caelux’s global contracted volume with module manufacturers has exceeded 25 GW following the agreement, reflecting the company’s technology and market approach.

Vish Iyer, Managing Director, India & West Asia at Caelux, highlighted that integrating Energy Producing Glass with TOPCon technology represents a significant opportunity for the Indian market through ultra-high-power-density solar modules.

INA Solar’s Manufacturing Expansion Plans

INA Solar currently operates three solar module manufacturing facilities in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with a combined annual manufacturing capacity of 5.5 GW.

The company is also developing a 4.5 GW N-Type TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility and an 18,000 MTA aluminium frame manufacturing facility in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh. These projects are part of its broader strategy to strengthen domestic solar manufacturing and backward integration.

Its existing product portfolio includes N-Type TOPCon and Mono PERC solar modules ranging from 500 Wp to 635 Wp, alongside engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services. The company also has an Independent Power Producer (IPP) portfolio of approximately 400 MW.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Insolation Energy Limited is listed on both the NSE and BSE. The company has a presence across more than 250 districts, serves over 40,000 customers and operates through a network of more than 1,000 channel partners.
