Headquartered in Kolkata, Vikram Solar is one of India’s largest PV module manufacturers, backed by a presence in 39 countries and a pan-India network of over 750 dealers. Rated as a BloombergNEF Tier 1 manufacturer for 10 straight quarters and a 9-time PVEL Top Performer, the company delivers globally certified, high-reliability solar technology at scale.
Vikram Solar Limited has secured an order to supply 289.87 MWp of high-efficiency N-Type TOPCon G12R solar modules for an 810 MW solar power project at the RUVN Solar Park in Pugal, Bikaner, Rajasthan.
Announced on October 27, 2026, the order has been placed by NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna public sector enterprise owned by the Government of India, on behalf of its wholly owned subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL).
N-Type TOPCon Modules for Rajasthan’s Solar Conditions
The contracted modules use N-Type Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) technology in the G12R format. According to Vikram Solar, the modules are designed to deliver higher energy yield and stable output under high-irradiance and high-temperature conditions, making them suitable for solar installations in western Rajasthan.
The technology is intended to support reliable electricity generation in utility-scale projects, where module performance, product quality and dependable supply are critical to long-term project operations.
The 289.87 MWp order represents approximately 35.8% of the project’s stated 810 MW capacity. However, the announcement does not disclose the number of modules, individual module wattage, conversion efficiency or the contract value.
NLC India Expands Its Renewable Energy Portfolio
The project is located at the RUVN Solar Park in Pugal, Bikaner district, an area with substantial solar energy potential. Rajasthan continues to play a major role in India’s utility-scale solar expansion, supported by high solar irradiation and large tracts of land suitable for renewable energy development.
NLC India Renewables Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, is responsible for the renewable energy project. The module supply order adds another domestic manufacturing contract to India’s expanding solar deployment pipeline.
The supply is scheduled to be completed by March 2027. The announcement does not specify the project’s commissioning timeline or the detailed module delivery schedule.
Vikram Solar Strengthens Its Utility-Scale Presence
The order reinforces Vikram Solar’s position as a supplier of high-efficiency solar modules for large grid-connected projects. The company operates internationally across 39 countries and maintains an extensive distribution network throughout India.
Sameer Nagpal, Chief Executive Officer of Vikram Solar, said the order reflects confidence in the company’s N-Type TOPCon technology and its ability to deliver at utility scale. He also highlighted supply reliability, long-term performance and integrated manufacturing capabilities as priorities for India’s growing clean energy sector.
The contract comes amid rising demand for domestically manufactured solar modules as India continues to expand renewable energy capacity and strengthen its solar manufacturing ecosystem.
